Fresh Harvest–From Farm to You
At Igneous Products, we deliver fresh frankincense and myrrh harvested within 6 months. Direct sourcing and control an enjoyable aroma
At Igneous Products, our name reflects the rarity and value we offer. Just as igneous rocks form through intense heat and pressure deep within the earth, the most treasured incense resins are found in remote and rugged terrains, like the hills of Northern Somalia. While such rare finds are difficult to access, we make it easy for you to experience the highest quality frankincense, delivering it directly to your door with care and authenticity.
Mass-Produced Products Replacing Natural Products In the late 90s, the demand for frankincense and myrrh saw a decline as mass-produced alternatives, such as inexpensive candles, began to replace natural incense resins. With the shift towards these synthetic products, the traditional incense business faced a downturn, and many suppliers questioned the future of the industry
Search for Incense in Canada By 2019, despite the abundance of alternatives on the market, finding high quality frankincense and myrrh in Toronto became a challenge. Many vendors were offering low-grade resins at inflated prices, and I couldn’t bring myself to accept these subpar products. Determined to find a better solution, I sought out authentic, properly graded resins directly from Somalia, where the finest quality incense is sourced.
Start of Igneous Products: A month after receiving the resins from Somaliland, I registered Igneous Products Inc. in Toronto, aiming to bring high-quality frankincense and myrrh to North America at a fair price. I knew where to source the best resins, so I traveled to Somaliland and took a 12-hour car journey from the capital to the mountains where frankincense grows, meeting the farmers directly to ensure we offer the finest products.
In Somaliland: From the start, we focused on quality. In 2020, we partnered with warehouses near the frankincense farms to remove barks and impurities early in the process. Many skip this step to save costs, resulting in lower-grade products, but we ensure that only the best quality resins make it to our customers.
Grading & Sorting: Our sourcing model ensures superior quality frankincense. Unlike most retailers, who rely on multiple distributors, we maintain full transparency in our supply chain. Resins from others may be old, poorly stored, or have passed through many hands, resulting in an unpleasant smell. With us, packaging is done only after thorough grading and sorting to ensure freshness and quality.
Goal & Mission: Our goal is to offer the highest quality resins at an affordable price. We achieve this by being the only company in the market with full control over the supply chain and direct relationships with the farmers.
Fresh 2024 Harvest: Our Frankincense gum sap was tapped from the Frankincense tree frankincense tree plant (Boswellia Carterii) in the latest 2024 harvest, ensuring maximum aroma and freshness.
Bulk & Pure: Our Frankincense herb has no wood chips, our Frankincense resin ensures you get 100% natural product, perfect for larger quantities and consistent quality in every use.
Authentic Arabic Origins: Our Frankincense resin, known as لبان الذكر الاصلي in Arabic, is sourced directly from North Eastern Mountains of Somalia The authentic roots of Olibanum
Boswellia resin is used as church incense, Catholic incense, and Orthodox incense, yoga and meditation. It creates a calming atmosphere
Loose & Dry Incense: Our incense has sun dried and cleared of any wood chips. This ensures that the resin don’t stick together and the wood smell doesn’t mix with the incense resin
