It is our hearts’ desire that the word of the LORD becomes very accessible to you; this is why we carried out this project. We have created a well-designed and affordable Apocrypha of the Ethiopian Bible with helpful footnotes to deepen your understanding.

This book contains only the Apocrypha of the Ethiopian Bible, those sacred books included in the official canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church but omitted from most traditional Western Bibles.

Please note this important truth: There is nowhere in the world where a complete Ethiopian Bible exists in English, because some of the books of the Ethiopian Bible have yet to be translated into the English language.

This book contains all the Apocryphal books that have been translated into English so far. Also note that the 66 books of our traditional English Bibles are exactly the same as those in the Orthodox Ethiopian Bible. Therefore, this book, together with your traditional Bible, is the most complete version of the Ethiopian Bible currently available.

For centuries, these powerful writings were preserved in the Ge’ez language and held sacred by Ethiopian Christians, while remaining virtually unknown to the rest of the world. Now, this large print English edition brings together these treasured texts in one accessible volume.

These are the books included in this publication:

1, 2, and 3 Meqabyan – Unique to the Ethiopian canon, these are not the same as the Catholic Maccabees, but powerful accounts of spiritual courage and resistance

The Book of Enoch – A profound prophetic work referenced in the New Testament

The Book of Jubilees – A retelling of Genesis with added angelic insight and divine instruction

1 & 2 Esdras, Tobit, Judith, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach (Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, and 4 Baruch

Additions to Esther, The Letter of Jeremiah, Song of the Three Holy Children, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon

The Prayer of Manasseh, Psalm 151

The Ethiopic Didascalia – A set of early Christian teachings found only in this tradition
